Wine Colour Lipstick Look-book

The first time I saw this colour was way back in late 90's when Karisma Kapoor was going through a complete transformation ... (Remember her Sundara sundara days ???) She featured on a magazine cover wearing a snazzy wine colour top. We were quick to get a cut out of that picture and keep it aside as reference for our future wardrobe needs; and boy! my mom and I had a euphoric moment when we saw a saree & in the exact in same colour. It is a classic satin saree and continues to remain a favourite even now after well over 15 years ... phew !!!

Wine is an exotic colour ... one wouldn't find it commonly available. But I almost wanted to do a tribal dance when I saw a lipstick last year in the exact same colour. And as luck would have it, a friend gifted me the same colour in another brand a few days later ... (I love my life :)

So I've made a look book with a colour thats been a favourite ...  have a look

Colours like these are mainly suited for evenings, but if your mood suggests so in daytime, go ahead with it !!!

Normally deep colours like these should be balanced off with minimal makeup and thats exactly what I've done. Just little foundation, eyeliner and my customary kajal is all that I have used

My outfit look

If you are wearing this shade at a wedding then wearing jewellery is fine but in western wear clubbing the look with minimal or no jewellery works very well.

I have combined my black dress with a simple navy stole. I am happy to keep the look uber simple.

Please do not confuse this lovely colour by referring to shades of mauve, cousins of brown, darker versions of red or purple and calling them WINE. People in stores will often claim to stock wine colours and when you actually see them, they are nowhere in the same vicinity as wine :)

Here are some bollywood instagrams of celebs in this colour lipstick

My #lipstick is a mix of 2 colours ... Have blended Crimson Touch from #Lakme Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi Definition Matte Lipstick with Indulgent Bordeaux from #chambor
I like this colour in Matte finish and these 2 shades do the job perfectly well

So if ur outfit is a solid black, navy, white or even yellow, this shade will suit well. Of course there's no end to the combinations one can make out their own creativity suited best to their personal style and looks
