10 Homemade Face Packs For a Glowing Skin

Who doesn't want a glowing, healthy & a flawless skin. The feeling of having a clear and a healthy skin is priceless and the benefits, countless. Women with good skin can carry no make - up / light make - up looks rather easily. So while some of the good skin traits result from one's genetics, a little bit of help with some homemade face packs go a long way.

Fashion Tourist lists some home - made face packs that are no fuss and relatively easy on the pocket too. Include these in your beauty regime and you surely won't be disappointed.

1. Turmeric Powder (Haldi) & Coconut Oil pack:

This is a fantastic face pack for those dealing with scar issues. If you've had scars resulting from unfortunate incidents like illnesses (such as Chicken pox), accidents etc, you could definitely take help from this. Here's how its made -
Take 1½ tsp. of turmeric powder
Few drops of Coconut oil
Mix the above well to make a fine thick paste & apply it on your face. For better results keep it on the face as long as possible. This power packed combination will could definitely help in reducing or fading off any scars


2.  Rose Pack:

This pack is great to get that glow. You can make a fine powder in one go and stock it up in the bottle. Make a pack out of it as when you desire. Here's what you need -
For the powder -
Dried Red rose petals (completely dried and powdered)
Masoor Dal (split red lentils) very finely grounded to a powder form
Sandalwood powder (Chandan Powder)
(all of the above should be very finely grounded)
Mix the above concoction with rose water to make a paste and apply when needed


3. Malai, Gram Flour (besan) & Turmeric pack:

The mixture of the above 3 ingredients works very well for exfoliation. Rub this mix and your face and get rid of all the dead skin. The malai also helps in restoring any lost moisture from the face


4. Plain Yogurt (Curd) pack:

If you experience dryness on face, apply some yoghurt (dahi) on the face. It not only moisturises the face but also acts as a very good cooling agent



5. Yoghurt & Turmeric Powder pack:

Should you experience any form of irritation, rash or redness on the face, mix up 1 tsp. of curd with 1 tsp. of turmeric and apply it on your face. You will feel some relief


6. Tomato face pack:

Tomatoes help in skin brightening, tightening and curing pimples. Just squeeze 2 tsp. of tomato juice with 3 tsp of buttermilk and very few drops of lemon juice. Mix it well and apply. Leave it for half an hour and rinse off. See how fresh you feel :)


7. Milk & Honey face pack:

Add a tbsp. of milk with equal amount of honey. Apply for 15 mins and rinse it off for a fresh feel.


8. Lemon & Aloe Vera face pack:

The benefits of Aloe Vera are well known. It is packed with vitamins & minerals.
So incase you have developed a tan in the sun, throw in some aloe vera gel and a few drops of lemon juice together & apply on the face. Your tan should go away soon


9. Yoghurt, Gram Flour & Rose Water:

Gram Flour or Besan has been a superhit item with our moms and grandma's as it is known to fight a number of skin problems like pimples, blemishes etc etc.
Mix Gram Flour with some yoghurt and rose water and apply on the face. This pack is mainly for those with an oily skin


10. Banana & Honey face pack:

Bananas are loaded with Vitamin A,B,C & E, zinc, manganese, potassium & iron. Mash one ripe banana and add some honey and olive oil to it. Apply on the face and wash off after 15 mins.



Skin constitutes one of the most important parts of our body so we ought to nourish and tend to it with all the love and care; and the best care comes from home. So while the markets are flooded with skin creams and serums of all types, nothing is more organic, gentle, nourishing as these home made packs. And of course it doesn't get more inexpensive than this !!!
