Natural Remedies for Beautiful and Attractive Feet

One of the most stressed part of our body are our feet as they take the weight of the entire body. With our endless work and sometimes the need for standing for long hours, our feet deserve to be pampered once in a while, if not regularly.

For such pampering, a nice Salon pedicure is an apt indulgence every 15-20 days. But apart from that we can help our feet with many homemade packs, scrubs and massages with easily available ingredients in our homes.

Treating Tense Feet

Something we desire the most is to feel relaxed and one reason of not feeling so is tired feet. The best remedy for relaxed feet is warm water/oil therapy.

Warm water therapy:

Take a pedicure tub or any basic small bathroom tub and fill it with hot water. Add 2-3 caps of rose water made at home (boil rose petals of 10 red roses and boil in 2 litres of water and let it cool completely and store in a bottle and refrigerate). You can drop few rose petals in the tub as well. Next, add 2 big table spoons of milk and 2 caps of shampoo. Massage your feet with 2 tbsp of thick cream and let them soak in this water for 20 minutes. Scrub your feet after 20 minutes for relaxed and smooth feet.

Oil therapy:

Take 1 litre of mustard oil and take 200g of henna leaves. Boil the leaves in the oil for sometime and then strain and let the oil cool. You can use this oil multiple times (if only you are using it. Do not share the oil with any one else for basic hygiene reasons); just take care to first warm the oil a bit before use. Soak your feet in the oil for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, take each foot and wipe it with a paper towel and then with a cloth towel that soaks well. After wiping your feet, rub an acupressure roller under your feet for 5 minutes and feel the difference.

Soft Feet: 

Milk + honey + oats scrub: Take 2-3 tbsp of warm milk. Soak 1.5 tbsp of oats in it for 15 minutes and then put this in the grinder and make a paste. Remove the paste in a bowl and add 2 tsps of honey in the mix. Apply this paste on the feet and massage for 20 mins. Leave it on as a pack for another 20 mins and rinse with warm water. Cover your feet with socks for an hour or so. Enjoy your newly-found tender, smooth and soft feet. For long-duration results, repeat this every weekend.

Fairer Feet

Make an elaborate pack of one tomato + aloe vera gel + dash of lemon juice and pulp of one medium cucumber. Make a fine paste of all the ingredients and apply on the feet for 30 minutes. Then, massage the feet with the pack on it for 5-7 minutes and remove with tap water. Repeat the same every alternate day for fairer feet.

Treating Cracked Feet

This is a very simple therapy to reduce cracks on the feet and make them soft and also fairer. This pack is also an all-in-one pack for several feet issues.  Apply some almond oil on the feet and soak the feet in hot water for 20 mins. Remove and scrub with a stone scrubber. Take 10 almonds soaked overnight in milk and grind in a fine paste and mix with a few drops of rose water + milk cream. Add a spoon of milk powder + one spoon of olive oil in the paste and apply on the affected area first followed by the whole feet. Keep the paste on for 30 mins and wash off with warm water and scrub with a rough towel. Cover your feet by wearing socks the whole day. Repeat the treatment for a month (every alternate day) and your feet will be soft, fairer and smoother.

Avoiding Fungal Infection

Although this is some thing you should go to the doctor for. However, if you are prone to a fungal infection often on your feet then this little remedy can help. Take few neem leaves + curry leave (kadi patta) and make a paste. This paste must be very smooth. Add a bit of rose water to help grind the leaves. Add a tsp of turmeric to the fine paste and apply on the affected area or the whole feet. This in natural antiseptic and germ killer. This also helps in reducing smell from your feet.

Bye Bye Smelly Feet

A simple dip and pack can help if you are suffering from smelly feet. Dip your feet in salt water for half an hour every day. Add a tbsp of vinegar or lemon juice in the water before the dip. Wipe with a towel and apply a pack made out of tea leaves (collect leaves for a day when you prepare your tea or if you don’t drink tea, boil 3 tbsp of tea leaves in a cup of water and strain). Now grind the leaves in a fine paste and apply on the feet after the soak keep it on for 30 mins repeat regularly.
